Get Started with RACE

The RACE App is your home for accessing all things RACE. The app is added to your MS Teams and can be accessed on all of your devices.

Set Up the RACE App

1. Access the RACE Teams App. If the link didn’t automatically open MS Teams, click “Launch it now” or “Use the web app instead” to continue.
2. Add the app to your MS Teams by clicking “Add”
3. Once it has installed, click “Open” followed by “Get Started”
4. Check that your details are correct, or fill out the required fields, enter a preferred name, and click “Submit”
5. Read and accept the conditions of use

From here you can request access to any RACE service.

Get Started Quickly — Compute Service

If you only require access to compute and storage, you can self-service your request directly through the RACE App:

1. Complete the setup steps above
2. Click the “Request Access” button below “Compute Service”

Once approved, head to the Compute Service Guide to start launching workspaces.

Other Services

For all other RACE services — including Loome, direct AWS access, and direct Azure access — use the RACE App to submit your request. The RACE team will review and provision your access. See Request Access for details on funding schemes and eligibility.

Specialist Support & Requirements Discovery

Expert training, consulting, and one-on-one technical guidance to help you optimise research workflows. The RACE team collaborates on projects, provides tailored advice, and ensures you have the knowledge and tools to succeed.
