| Basic AWS Knowledge | Familiarity with AWS services recommended |
Request access via the Request Access guide.
Logging In
RACE provides AWS access through federated login (SSO) — you use your institutional credentials, not a separate AWS username/password.
- Navigate to the RACE AWS login portal
- Enter your institutional credentials
- Select the AWS account you wish to access (if you have multiple)
- You’ll be redirected to the AWS Console
Session Duration
- Federated sessions typically last 1-12 hours
- You’ll need to re-authenticate when your session expires
- Save your work before sessions expire
First Time Checklist
- Verify your region — Check the region selector in the top-right corner (default:
ap-southeast-2Sydney) - Note your account ID — Visible in the account menu, top-right
- Set up budget alerts — See Tips & Best Practices
- Bookmark the console — Save the URL for quick access
Warning
Never share your login credentials or create additional IAM users without approval from the RACE team. All access should go through the federated login system.
