Connecting to Your Workspace

Your workspace is running — now let’s connect to it. Compute Service supports several connection methods; pick the one that suits your workflow.

Connection Methods

Method Description Best For
SSH Command-line terminal access Linux workspaces, scripting, automation
DCV (Browser) Remote desktop in web browser GUI applications, no client install needed
DCV (Client) Remote desktop via native client Best performance for graphics-intensive work
Web IDE VS Code in browser Development and coding
HTTPS Direct web access to workspace services Web applications hosted on workspace

Before You Connect

  1. Ensure your workspace is in Running status
  2. Verify your IP address is whitelisted (you set this during creation — see Managing Your Workspace if you need to update it)
  3. Have your SSH private key ready (for SSH connections)

Accessing Connection Options

  1. Navigate to Workspaces in the left menu
  2. Find your workspace in the list
  3. Click Connections on the workspace card
